The Romanian multiplier event for the PAGES project, held on November 19, 2024 in Bucharest, brought together 35 participants from diverse professional backgrounds—including social work, healthcare, education, and community development—to explore tools and strategies for combating ageism and promoting intergenerational cohesion. Organized by the European Association for Social Innovation (EaSI), the three-hour face-to-face event featured a keynote by Sorin Marinescu of the Margareta Royal Foundation and showcased the project’s training materials, intergenerational program model, and service tools.
Portugal
The Portuguese multiplier event occurred in Lisbon, hosted by Aproximar in collaboration with Apoiarte – Casa do Artista, on the 18th of November 2024, at Teatro Armando Cortez. The event ran with different sessions, with moments of formal sharing interventions and more informal interactions. Apoiarte - Casa do Artista gave the first conference an opening space to discuss intergenerational activities' ethical and political influences on care and responsibility towards older adults. The subsequent intervention was given by Aproximar and aimed to present the implementation and results of the PAGES initiative in Portugal. This was followed by case studies of video testimonies from InterAges participants that served as topics of discussion for a roundtable formed by guests from different sectors and areas of intervention, one of whom participated in PAGES project activities.
Turkey
The Pages Multiplier event in Turkey took place on December 24 in Ankara. Various engaging activities were conducted during the event to ensure active participation and meaningful interaction among attendees. The session began with an Icebreaker Session, where participants introduced themselves and shared their expectations for the project, creating a friendly and open atmosphere that encouraged dialogue. This was followed by Storytelling Circles, where elderly participants shared their life experiences, providing valuable insights and lessons. At the same time, young attendees reflected on these stories and discussed their takeaways, fostering intergenerational understanding. Brainstorming Workshops were also conducted, allowing participants to contribute ideas on project implementation strategies and identify key community needs, ensuring that the project aligns with the expectations of both age groups. Finally, a Feedback Collection session was organized, during which surveys were distributed to gather participants' opinions on the proposed project activities, enabling the project team to incorporate suggestions and improve future initiatives. These activities helped build community and engagement while ensuring that all voices were heard and valued.
Germany
On December 7th, 2023, Wasla successfully hosted the PAGES Multiplier Event at Heinrich-Heine-Str. 27, 10179 Berlin, Germany, at Wasla's office. This event aimed to disseminate the objectives and outcomes of the PAGES project, fostering dialogue on counteracting ageism through intergenerational and intercultural learning. It served as a platform to present the project results and engage participants in meaningful discussions and activities. The event was significant in building awareness, sharing insights, and showcasing the impact of the project on community building and breaking stereotypes related to older adults.
Austria
The Multiplier Event was held on December 19, 2024, in Vienna, Austria. It served as an essential platform to share the project's outcomes and experiences with a wider audience. It aimed to encourage dialogue and active engagement among stakeholders. As a core element of the project's framework, the event was designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, collect valuable feedback, and foster collaboration across professional and community sectors.
Denmark
The event in Denmark held on December 3, 2024, aimed to disseminate the outcomes and experiences of the project to a broader audience, fostering dialogue and engagement among stakeholders.
The Insights from Project Implementation segment included interactive workshops designed to foster discussion and engagement among stakeholders. Partners prepared case studies based on data collected from the piloting experience. These cases were used to initiate discussions about:
• Increasing awareness of ageism and its implications. • Highlighting the benefits of the PAGES programme as perceived by younger and older participants. • Encouraging stakeholders to adopt and adapt the PAGES model in their contexts.
The workshops provided a platform for collaborative dialogue, enabling stakeholders to critically evaluate the programme’s impact and explore its potential for broader application.
